Nashville, Tenn., - The Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville announced it will celebrate its 20th anniversary show on February 11-13, 2010, at the Nashville Convention Center. The largest show of its kind in the country, the 2010 Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville will feature more than 150 extraordinary antique and horticultural dealers, magnificent gardens and world-renowned lecturers, including White House decorator Michael S. Smith; Her Grace, The Duchess of Northumberland, who transformed The Alnwick Garden; and award-winning gardener Ryan Gainey.

The 2010 theme - The Shape of Things to Come - will explore ideas from the past and trends of the future, showcasing the variety of shapes and patterns found in traditional and contemporary design.

"We are thrilled to launch our 20th annual Antiques and Garden Show, which will take a look back at our successful history while celebrating today's evolving traditions with some of the world's leading voices in decorating and design," said Donna Dalton, co-chair of the 2010 Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville.

The Show's 2010 Lecture Series is fitting of a special anniversary year. Featured lecturers will include:

  • Los Angeles-based designer Michael S. Smith, decorator of America's Home, The White House. Smith is one of the design industry's most respected talents, with an international profile of residential and commercial clients, having worked with celebrities such as Cindy Crawford, Dustin Hoffman and Steven Spielberg. Smith's designs are known for being comfortable and modern, while blending classic sophistication with priceless pieces.
  • Her Grace, The Duchess of Northumberland, whose vision led the transformation of The Alnwick Garden in Northumberland, England. One of the most exciting contemporary gardens developed in the last century, it has become one of the most visited horticultural attractions in Europe. The Alnwick Garden is recognized not only for gardening excellence but as a project whose resources are benefiting the local community. Alnwick Castle was also featured as the setting of Hogwarts School in the first two Harry Potter movies.
  • Ryan Gainey is an award-winning garden designer and author based in Decatur, Georgia, who has designed magnificent gardens around the world. Each garden crafted by Gainey possesses an individual vision based on classical design that is informed with a connoisseur's vision. His work is in tune with seasonal changes and inspired by gardens from the past. Gainey will also design the Entry Garden for the 2010 Antiques and Garden Show, incorporating the theme of The Shape of Things to Come, filling the garden with spectacularly shaped and patterned surroundings in a traditional yet contemporary design.

"We hope guests to the Antiques and Garden Show will be inspired by our fine lineup of world-class lecturers," said Carolyn Hannon, co-chair of the 2010 Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville. "This year's show will not only showcase a variety of beautiful antiques and gardens from across the country, but will encourage fresh ideas and classic traditions, helping attendees discover inspirations for their own home and gardening projects."
